THIS IS YOUR STORY, THESE ARE YOUR HEIRLOOMS
things are thrown away,
and memories fade,
all that remains after your wedding
are the photos that were captured.
These are the memories that you will pass down to your children. These are your heirlooms. I like to picture my bride & groom in the future, sitting down with their kiddos and flipping through their wedding day. I can see their kids laughing at how funny everyone was dressed, blushing in embarrassment at how “icky” love is, and smiling when they see a picture of their great grandma before she had passed away.
I will never forget how completely and utterly loved I felt when I walked down the aisle. As I looked into my groom’s eyes all I could see was love. He knew the best and worst parts of me and yet he loved and wanted to make a commitment to continue to choose me every day for the rest of our lives. I was overwhelmed, because in that moment I thought, if Talon a mere human loves me this much, how much more does God, the Creator of the universe, love me and continue to choose me? One thing I know is that marriage is a picture of God’s love for us.
